Healthy water and fair prices:
With the community for the community

Wasserversorgungsgesellschaft Hüscheid e.V

... is the oldest village community in the Bergisch Neukirchen area, comprising around 330 households. It was founded in 1898. Initially, the farms were supplied with their own wells; after the First World War, the first water pipes were laid by the villagers themselves.

The expansion of the water pipes both in Hüscheid and in the Neuenkamp area began after the Second World War, again thanks to the (voluntary) work of the members. The increasing development from the 1990s onwards made it necessary to extend the supply pipes from Hüscheid to Neuenkamp and within the local areas.

The purpose of the WVG is to supply drinking and industrial water to the villages of Hüscheid and Neuenkamp and the properties connected to the association's existing pipes within the city of Leichlingen. All owners registered in the land register or residents with usufructuary rights who wish to be supplied with water within the supply area can be or become members. The water is supplied by EVL Leverkusen (see partners). The rights and obligations of members are governed by the articles of association and water supply regulations.

Please send your e-mail address to one of our contacts and let us know that you agree to receive invoices, information and invitations [to meetings] by e-mail.

We all save on administration, printing and postage costs, shorten the dispatch time, save paper and protect our environment a little. These cost savings also help to keep our water price favourable.

Hans-Joachim Rigol

Our long-standing board member Hans-Joachim Rigol has worked intensively on the history of the association and prepared all relevant documents for the archives of the city of Leverkusen. Here you will find his short contribution, combined with reflections on the significance of water in the past and future.

Hans-Joachim Rigol, who wrote the above article, has passed away. Our thoughts are with him, his wife and his family.

As a member and during his time on the Board, Hans-Joachim Rigol was committed to the interests of WVG. He always represented the interests of the members on the Board and in particular campaigned for a low water price. Without him, we would not have been able to analyse the history of WVG and hand it over to the archives of the city of Leverkusen. He will not be forgotten, our thanks go with him.
